The VINE Amphitheatre is an outdoor venue, and performances typically proceed in all kinds of Kentucky weather. Guests should expect full exposure to the elements, including direct sun, strong winds, rain, and even snow, depending
on the time of year.
It is the responsibility of guests to come prepared for changing weather conditions. We recommend dressing in layers, wearing sunscreen, bringing a poncho or rain jacket, and wearing comfortable walking shoes, as the routes from parking areas to the venue gates may involve uneven ground, uphill climbs, and long distances depending on arrival time. Umbrellas are not permitted inside the venue.
All events at The VINE Amphitheatre are scheduled as rain or shine. Light rain, drizzle, heat, or cold temperatures will not typically cause an event to be postponed or canceled. Refunds will not be issued to guests who choose to leave the event due to routine weather. However, exceptions may occur in the case of severe weather conditions that pose a safety risk to guests, staff, or performers. These exceptions include lightning, tornados, hail, hurricane-force winds, or winward rain actively blowing onto the stage that endangers performers or equipment.
We use the National Weather Service to monitor conditions to monitor conditions throughout the day on event days. If lightning is detected within a Ten-mile radius of the venue, the stage will be cleared, and the event will be placed on a 30-minute weather hold. All guests will be instructed to return to their vehicles or seek shelter, as their vehicles are considered the safest option during a lightning delay. If another lightning strike is recorded within that same radius during the delay period, the 30-minute countdown will reset.
Once 30 minutes have passed with no additional lightning strikes in the area, we will announce the all-clear and allow re-entry into the venue. Communication will be issued through our Facebook page, in-venue video screens, staff verbal announcements, and an air horn system in the parking area signaling that it is safe to return. Guests must retain their ticket stubs or digital tickets and be prepared to present them for re-entry.
In the event that dangerous weather is forecast prior to the show date, the event organizer reserves the right to postpone or cancel the performance. Any changes to the schedule will be communicated directly to ticket holders via email, posted on The VINE Amphitheatre’s official Facebook page, and shared with local media partners. If an event is postponed, all tickets will be honored at the new scheduled date. If a ticketholder is unable to attend the new date, they may request a refund.
If an event is canceled entirely, and not rescheduled, ticket holders who purchased through Ticketmaster or other approved outlets will receive an automatic refund to the original form of payment. Refunds for cash payments will be made available at a later announced date.
Regardless of the weather, the safety of our guests, staff, and performers remains our top priority.
